Ford India reported an 8.29pc decline in its total sales in September this year at 9,418 units vis-à-vis 10,270 units sold in the same month last year. The company's exports saw a downswing of 34.22pc to 1,624 as against 2,469 units in the same month last year. Ford India’s domestic wholesales stood steady at 7,794 in September this year compared to 7801 cars sold in September 2011. Commenting on the sales performance, Ford India President and Managing Director, Michael Boneham said, "We have seen customer confidence improving with the start of the festive season, and are fully prepared to handle pent-up demand during the festive period with our enhanced capacity for diesel engines at Chennai."
